Things to Know When Shopping at Kroger!

*Weekly ads are located at www.kroger.com

*You MUST have a Krogers Reward Card to get the sale prices!  Very easy to sign up and if you don’t have your card all of the time….that’s okay, the cashier can look it up by using your phone number.

*Coupon NEW Policy (As of October 10, 2011….Cincinnati/Dayton District):

*Krogers reserves the right to limit no more than five (5) paper manufacturer coupons for the same product, each coupon value considered (1) coupon in the same transaction.

*Limit One Manufacturer Coupon (paper or digital) per item purchased

*Expired Coupons are NOT accepted

*Couponed item will not be sold to dealers

NOTE:  The Store Manager has the right to accept, decline, or limit the use of any coupon.

*Krogers DOES accept Internet Coupons!

Internet Coupon Restrictions/PAH Coupons (Print at Home Coupons)

*Free Item” internet coupons can be accepted if all purchase criteria is met.

*Only one internet coupon per item will be accepted

*Only two internet coupons per manufacturer per Customer, per day.

*internet coupons that display characteristics below will not be accepted.

            -Blurry

            -Out of proportion

            -Do not scan properly

-Appear to be altered in any way

Doubling (If Applicable)

*Manufacturers coupons 50 cents and below will automatically be doubled (example:  Coupon is $0.35, it will double to $0.70).

*Doubling does not apply to the following coupons

-FREE                                    -Retail Food Store Coupons

-Kroger                                   -Electronic Coupons

-Catalina                               -Items Prohibited by Law

*Kroger’s Does NOT accept other competitors coupons or Catalina coupons from other stores.

*Kroger’s has a NEW Mega Sale Policy:

Kroger’s has always had their Mega Sales set up that if you bought 10 participating products, you would get $5 off (in one chunk) at the end of the order.  If you purchased 40 participating products, you would see 4- $5 off’s at the end of your receipt.  FROM NOW ON….they WILL NOT DO THAT!  Instead of a $5 chunk off, the register will automatically lower each of the 10 items $0.50 lower when 10 participating items are purchased.

What does this mean for you?  In the past Kroger’s had allowed us to use a $1 off coupon for an item ringing up $1.00 in the Mega Sale (therefore when the $5 is taken off at the end…”technically” the product was now $0.50) we called the item a “money maker.”  Since the product will automatically lower to $.50, the coupon will only be worth $0.50 and the cashier will have to modify the coupon down to $0.50 and write on it.  You will still get the item for FREE; just no more overages will be given.

To clarify….you would not have been handed money back after a transaction, Kroger’s would just allow you to use the whole $1 off because they were still getting the FULL $1 back from the manufacturer.  Meaning they were not losing any money.   Now since the product itself will lower to $0.50, the manufacturer will only reimburse $0.50 so Kroger’s can NO LONGER allow overages on an order.

*Krogers Digital Coupon Policy: (from their website www.kroger.com )

Digital Coupons Policy

Customers choosing to participate in the digital coupons are required to have an active online account with a valid, associated shopper card. Kroger employees or partners are prohibited to set up or otherwise maintain an online account not specifically associated to that employee or employee household.

A valid shopper card or an alternate ID is required for the use of digital coupons at the time of purchase.

Digital coupons and offers are deducted from a customer purchase prior to paper coupons or any other discounts and cannot be added back or removed once card has been scanned.

  • Limit one use per digital coupon per transaction
  • Digital offers cannot be combined with manufacturer paper coupons on the purchase of a single item
  • Digital offers do not double
  • A limit of 150 coupons can be loaded per household at one time

The store manager has the right to accept, decline, or limit the use of ANY digital coupon or offer.

~The registers at Kroger’s now will BEEP if you have an electronic coupon (via shortcuts.com, cellfire.com, krogers.com, etc) and try to use a Paper manufacturer coupon as well.  They cashier is not allowed to except both.  If you have a higher dollar amount paper coupon I advise you not to select that small amount electronic coupon because those will automatically come off of your order and they DO NOT double….and if they automatically come off of your order you can’t use the paper coupon too.

When will the discounted fuel price show on the pump?
When you scan or swipe your Plus Card or1-2-3 REWARDS® MasterCard® the price will not roll back instantly. You must first choose the form of payment and whether or not you want to use your discount before the price rolls back.

Can customers choose not to use their discount at the fuel pump?
Yes, you will be prompted whether you want to use your Points or not.

How long are the Points good for?
Points earned in the current month are available for use through the end of the next month. This program is for a limited time only and may end at any point.

Can customers use only part of their Points in a single transaction?
No. Using the Points is an all or none decision.

Where is this program running?
Points can be earned and redeemed at all Kroger Fuel Centers inCincinnati andDayton.

What happens if the current month’s unredeemed Points total is larger than the previous month’s unredeemed Points total?
Customers will always receive the highest discount available. For example, if you have 200 unredeemed Points in January, and 300 unredeemed Points in February, the 30¢ per gallon discount will be offered first (the greater of the two). Once you use this discount, the 20¢ per gallon discount will be offered next, as long as it is used before the end of February.

Do customers have to register for this new program?
No. Customers can use their existing Plus Card or 1-2-3 REWARDS® MasterCard® to receive these fuel discounts. If you do not have a Kroger Plus Card you can sign up for one at www.kroger.com.
